Research Fellow Curtin University Bentley, Perth WA Research & Fellowships, Other (Education & Training) Contract/Temp 118,308 to 140,147 (ALB) + 17% superannuation About the Role:  Curtin University is seeking a motivated and collaborative Research Fellow to join the Epidemiology Research Lab within the School of Population Health. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary MRFF-funded long COVID research program focused on improving population health outcomes through advanced epidemiological and biostatistical research, alongside meaningful stakeholder and community engagement. The successful candidate will support the Chief Investigators in the design, implementation and translation of high-impact, policy-relevant research that informs practice and improves health outcomes both nationally and globally. The position involves conducting nationally competitive research independently and collaboratively, while contributing to research leadership, project coordination and service activities across the program. This research only position is full time, fixed term until 31 May 2029, with a salary range between 118,308 to 140,147 (ALB), plus 17% superannuation. Your responsibilities will include: Lead the development of study protocols, develop instrument for online surveys, data linkage processes, and lead ethics applications in line with governance and regulatory requirements. Lead the design and implementation of consumer preference research methods including discrete choice experiment studies. Conduct advanced statistical modelling, including geospatial analyses. Undertake epidemiological research, including systematic reviews, network meta-analyses, Delphi studies, and mixed-methods research. Coordinate and engage with community advisory groups and key stakeholders to support the co-design and development of evidence-based models of care. Prepare project reports, deliver scientific presentations, and publish findings in high impact peer-reviewed journals. Support the Chief Investigators of the long COVID project, including coordinating meetings and contributing to project delivery. Contribute to competitive national and international grant and fellowship applications. Participate in teaching activities as directed by the School and supervise postgraduate students. Who we are looking for (selection criteria): A PhD or near completion in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, geospatial science, health economics, or a closely related discipline. Proven experience in designing and implementing complex quantitative studies, including discrete choice experiments and analysis of large datasets. Demonstrated expertise in advanced statistical modelling, including geospatial analyses, supported by strong programming skills (e.g., STATA, R, Python, or similar). Proven ability to design and implement qualitative research and understanding of qualitative data analysis packages. Evidence of a growing publication track record in high-quality peer-reviewed journals relative to opportunity. Demonstrated ability to develop research protocols, lead ethics applications, and manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines. Demonstrated experience in designing field surveys and stakeholder engagement to co-design policy-relevant research. Proven ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary and multi-institutional research teams. Demonstrated ability to contribute to supervise postgraduate students. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, publications, and presentations.
