Reporting to the Chief Engineer, your role will be to ensure the "day-to-day operational performance" of the engineering group function which ultimately provides all divisions (nationally) with a broad range of engineering service and expertise. This will involve leading, coaching and managing a medium-sized multi-disciplinary engineering team of Supervisors across mechanical, electrical, fabrication, and operational technology teams ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards - at the same time exceeding customer expectations. In working closely with other operational teams and senior Leadership, you will foster a positive service-based culture and lead a continuous improvement focus of the engineering division. You will also be involved in reviewing and approving engineering designs, modifications and technical documentation. As a Registered Professional Engineer, you will provide engineering governance and technical oversight, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, codes and professional engineering standards. You will be tertiary qualified (bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or related discipline), a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEIQ) accreditation, National Engineering Register (NER) accreditation, and ideally have completed an MBA. With 15+ years as an experienced engineering Leader within a manufacturing, construction or heavy industrial environment, you will have demonstrated: balancing engineering outcomes with operational and business objectives, great people leadership and interpersonal skills [easily able to relate at all levels], excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, excellent planning, resource allocation and operational performance managing skills, an ability to remain flexible and customer service focused. Further, you will really enjoy the challenges of providing a quality and timely service whether it be small or larger engineering project work. Candidates must demonstrate proven leadership experience managing teams of 30 or more people in a technical environment.
