Chef King River Brewing Whitfield, Yarra Valley and High Country VIC Chefs/Cooks (Hospitality and Tourism) Full time 70,000 to 80,000 per year Head Chef to Full Time King River Brewing | Victoria’s High Country King River Brewing is seeking a full-time Head Chef to lead our taproom kitchen in Victoria’s High Country. Our current food offering is pizza-focused, delivered across regular trade and events. We are open to evolving and expanding the menu over time, and welcome a chef who can contribute ideas while maintaining commercial discipline and consistency. About the Role This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operation of our kitchen. Trading hours: Thursday: 4pmto8pm Friday: 4pmto8pm Saturday: 11amto8:30pm Sunday: 11amto4pm Wednesday: Prep Full-time role averaging approximately 38to40 hours per week. No late-night finishes — the venue closes by 8:30pm. Key Responsibilities Lead kitchen operations during service Manage dough preparation and pizza production Oversee food preparation and menu execution Maintain food safety and compliance standards Manage ordering, stock control and food cost targets Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials Support event catering and function service Train and supervise junior kitchen staff About You Experience in a commercial kitchen Confident running independent service Strong organisational and time management skills Sound understanding of food cost control Ability to work weekends Trade qualification desirable but not essential We are seeking a reliable and commercially minded chef who can take ownership of a small but busy kitchen and help shape its next stage of growth. Salary and Benefits: 75,000k + super (depending on experience) Full-time position Three-month probation period Stable hours and predictable roster Staff meals and team benefits Salary reflects weekend trade within contracted hours and aligns with the Hospitality Industry Award classification.
