Sheet Metal Worker to Manufacturing Sable Metal Fabrication Inc. Work site environment Noisy Dusty Odours Hot Work setting Metal product fabrication industry Responsibilities: Calculate heating and cooling loads Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Measure and mark sheet metal according to template Prepare tenders and quotations Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal Operate laser cutters Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification Develop computerized pattern and layout Operate CADD and other computer software systems Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist Remove metal pieces from furnace when colour or metal indicates proper forging temperature Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions Position and adjust dies on anvil of forging machinery Position heated or cooled metal pieces on die of press or other forging machinery Place metal pieces in furnace Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw or rivet metal parts together Operate gas or oil fired furnace to heat metal to proper temperatures prior to forging Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines Document work completed Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products Experience and specialization Computer and technology knowledge AutoCAD Mining equipment Cutting machine Equipment and machinery experience Soldering or welding equipment Shears Punch presses Power presses Lifting device Forging press Metal forming or shaping operations experience Punching Forming Drawing Bending Metal twisting Additional information Security and safety Criminal record check Transportation/travel information Own transportation Work conditions and physical capabilities Fast-paced environment Physically demanding Manual dexterity Attention to detail Hand-eye co-ordination Standing for extended periods Bending, crouching, kneeling Handling heavy loads Tight deadlines Work under pressure Repetitive tasks Weight handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Own tools/equipment Steel-toed safety boots Safety glasses/goggles Gloves Ear plugs Personal suitability Dependability Excellent oral communication Judgement Organized Team player Flexibility Benefits Other benefits Free parking available Learning/training paid by employer Team building opportunities Until: 2026-02-21
