Casual School Learning Officer to Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School Catholic Education Cairns Cairns, Cairns and Far North QLD Teaching Aides and Special Needs (Education and Training) Casual/Vacation Position: School Learning Officer Employment Type: Casual to as required Pay rate: SOF Level 3, 42.71 to 44.52 gross per hour, including casual loading Applicants will be assessed upon receipt of the application, if suitable. About the Role The School Learning Officer in this position is required to demonstrate competency in applying knowledge with depth in some areas and a broad range of skills. There is a range of roles and tasks across a variety of contexts, with varying levels of complexity in the extent and choice of actions required.  Competencies are within routines, methods and procedures. Some discretion and judgement are involved in the selection of equipment, work organisation, services, actions and achieving outcomes within time constraints. Assist student learning, either individually or in groups, where some discretion and judgement are involved in evaluating and assessing (under the supervision of an academic staff member(s)) the learning needs of students. Within routines, methods and procedures carry out liaison between the school, the student and the student’s family where some discretion and judgement are involved. Under direct and/or routine supervision, perform tasks of limited complexity associated with classroom learning experiences, such as assisting teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising learning programs. Maintain appropriate behaviours when engaging with children. Support students with their physical needs, where some discretion and judgement are required.
